Title: Catalytic synthesis of n-octyl chloroacetate with SO_4~(2-)/TiO_2-MoO_3
Abstract: Catalytic esterification of chloroacetic acid with noctanol by SO42/TiO2MoO3 has been studied. The effects of molar ratio of alcohol and aicd, catalyst amount, reaction time and waterentrainer amount on the yield of ester were discussed. The results showed that the SO42/TiO2MoO3 was a better catalyst and the optimum reaction conditions were as follows:the molar ratio of noctanol to chloroacetic acid was 1.5∶1,quantity of catalyst 1.0%( of noctanol and chloroacetic acid) waterentrainer was 6 ml,reaction temperature was about 160~180 ℃ and reaction time was 2.0 h.The yield of 79.0% under the optimum conditions was obtained.
