Title: An analysis of six kinds of serum tumor markers detection in patients with lung cancer
Abstract: Objective To investigate the prognostic value of detecting 6kinds serum tumor markers in lung cancer. Methods Serum tumor markers of carbohydrate antigen 125(CA-125)and carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9),carcinoma embryo antigen(CEA),cell keratin 19 pieces(Cyfra21-1),neuron specific enolase(NSE),enzyme-related squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCC) were detected in 86patients with lung cancer(group A)and 50patients with benign lung disease(group C).Results Serum levels of CA19-9,CA-125,CEA,SCC,Cyfra21-1and NSE were higher in group A than those in group C(P0.05).Serum levels of CA-125and CA19-9were higher, but CEA and NSE were lower,in patients with small cell carcinoma than those in patients with non-small cell carcinoma(P0.05).Serum levels of CA-125and SCC were higher, but CA19-9and CEA were lower,in patients with squamous cell carcinoma than those in patients with adenocarcinoma(P0.05).Combined detection of 6kinds of tumor markers showed a sensitivity of 94.19% and specificity of 84.00% in the diagnosis of lung cancer. When a single tumor marker was detected, CA-125had the highest sensitivity and Cyfra21-1had the highest specificity. Conclusion Multiple serum tumor markers detections can improve the sensitivity in the diagnosis of lung cancer.
