Title: Expression and clinical significance of cathepsin D,EGFR,P16 in non-small cell lung cancer
Abstract: Objective To study clinical significance of the expression of cathepsin D(Cath D),epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)and P16 in patients with non small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods A rapid immunohistochemical method(streptavidin peroxidase conjugataed method SP)was used to detecting the expression of three proteins the NSCLC patients in 64 cases lung cancer samples. Results The positive expression rate of Cath D,EGFR,P16 was 66%,67% and 52% in the lung cancer tissues, respectively, deletion rate of P16 protein expression was 48.4%.Expression of Cath D,EGFR was significantly related to the stage of the disease ( P 0.05, P 0.01)and lymph node metastasis( P 0.01, P 0.05) in the lung cancer patients. The multivariate analysis using COX hazard model and Kaplan Meier method showed the Cath D and EGFR were the most important influence factors in prognosis of the disease. Conclusion Abnormal expression of all the three factors are very high in the NSCLC patients, they may play promotion roles in development of NSCLC.Cath D and EGFR are the useful parameters to evaluate the prognosis of NSCLC.
