Title: Current status of Acinetobacter baumannii infection in ICU and analysis of drug resistances
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To explore the current status of Acinetobacter baumannii infections in ICU and the analyzed the drug resistance so as to provide pathological evidence for the clinical reasonable use of antibiotics.METHODS A total of 799 strains of A.baumannii, which were isolated from ICU between Jan 2008 to Jul 2010,were analyzed retrospectively, the drug resistance was observed as well.RESULTS The isolation rate of the A.baumannii strains was 20.6%,showing an increasing trend.A.baumannii strains were highly resistant to the commonly used antibiotics, the drug resistance rate to polymyxin was the lowest(0),the drug resistance rates were all higher than 50.0% except 49.7% to cefoperazone/sulbactam,the drug resistance rate to imipenem was higher than 90.0%.CONCLUSION The A.baumannii infections in the ICU and the drug resistance are increasingly serious, thus it is necessary to intensify the detection of nosocomial infection in the ICU as well as the monitoring of drug resistant strains so as to prevent the outbreak and prevalence of nosocomial infections.
