Title: Drug resistance changes of acinetobacter baumannii isolated from 2006 to 2008
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence and antibiotic resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii from Yuncheng City Central Hospital.METHODS A total of 372 nonduplicate strains of A.baumannii were collected from Jan 2006 to Dec 2008.Disc diffusion test was employed to study the antimicrobial resistance. And WHONET5.4 software was used for data analysis.RESULTS A.baumannii was mainly from lower respiratory tract, accounting for 87.4%.The resistance of A.baumannii varied from one department to another, and the highest was in ICU,accounting for 40.5%.The drug resistance to cefoperazone/sulbactam was the lowest with 6.5%.CONCLUSIONS The drug resistance of A.baumannii.isolated from ICU patients is more serious than that from non-ICU patients. The resistance rate of A.baumannii to carbopenems is significantly increasing. It has consequential significance to strengthen the monitoring of drug resistance of antibiotics in clinics and control the spread of bacterial drug resistance.
