Title: Expression of Suvivin and Caspase 3 biological character in colorectal carcinoma
Abstract: [Objective] To study the expression of Survivin and mechanism with the proliferation and its relationship with Caspase 3 in the colorectal carcinoma. [Methods] Colorectal carcinoma (n =62) and normal colorectal tissues (n =25) are collected for immunohistochemistry (S-P method) and TUNEL study to detected the expression of Survivin and Caspase 3. [Results] Survivin did not express in normal colorectal tissues. The positive rate of survivin was 56.4% and significant relationships were found among pathological stage and lymph node metastasis but not significant relationship with invasive depth. The positive rate of Caspase 3 was 42.5% in colorectal carcinoma while 88% in the normal colorectal tissue. The AT in the Survivin positive group and negative group were (4.53±1.04) and (7.29±1.24) respectively (P 0.05). [Conclusion] Survivin may contribute to the proliferation of colorectal carcinoma cells through inhibit Caspase 3. Detection of the expression of Survivin and Caspase 3 may predict malignant degree and prognosis.
