Title: Expression of Survivin and its Significance in Colorectal Carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To detect the expression of survivin in colorectal carcinoma and its association with clinical pathological relationships. Methods The expression of survivin mRNA were detected in using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and the use of immunohistochemistry in 50 cases of colorectal cancer and 20 cases of adjacent tissues. Results The expression of survivin mRNA in 60 cases with colorectal cancer, the positive expression of survivin mRNA in 40 patients (66.6%) were significantly higher than the adjacent tissues in 2 cases (6.6%) (χ 2 =6.85, P0.01); The positive expression of survivin mRNA with pathological grade, lymph node metastasis are closely related (χ 2 =4.25, χ 2 =4.85, P 0.01; r =5.12, r = 5.32, P 0.05). Conclusion The high expression of survivin related with colorectal cancer malignancy degree.
