Title: THE EXPRESSION OF Survivin AND Caspase GENE IN NON-SMALL CELL LUNG CANCER AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP
Abstract: Objective To investigate the expressions of Survivin and Caspase-3 gene and their relationship in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC). Methods The expressions of Survivin gene and caspase-3 gene in 74 paraffin-embedded NSCLC samples were detected immunohistochemically. Results Survivin was expressed in 48 of 74(64.9%) cases of NSCLC tissues, which was closely related to TNM staging, lymph node involvement, and cell differentiation(χ2=5.00-5.20,P0.05).Caspase-3 was expressed in 41 of 74(55.4%) cases, which was closely related to lymph node involvement. The expression of Survivin was negatively correlated with Caspase-3 gene in NSCLC tissues(r=-0.404,P0.01). Conclusion Over-expression of Survivin and non-expression of caspase-3 gene are seen in NSCLC.Over-expression of Survivin indicates higher invasiveness and poor prognosis of NSCLC by combining the active caspase-3 to inhibit the apoptosis.
