Title: CT-guided percutaneous ethanol injection for the treatment of nonfunctional adrenal tumor
Abstract: Objective To validate the therapeutic effect of CT-guided percutaneous ethanol injection(PEI) for the treatment of nonfunctional accident adrenal tumor. Methods Twenty-one cases of nonfunctional accident adrenal tumor of singular foci were less than 5 cm.The diameters of 7 cases in 21 cases were less than 3 cm.All of them were treated with CT-guided PEI.The times of treatment were more than twice.Size and necrosis of the tumors were examined by plain and enhanced CT scan 1-2 months after PEI.Results Post-PEI enhanced CT scan showed that 13 foci including the 7 foci which diameters less than 3 cm were completely necrotized.Eight foci were necrotized at large, which were completely necrotized after repeated PEI treatment. There was no recurrence of tumor on following-up for 1-3 years. Conclusion CT-guided PEI for nonfunctional accident adrenal tumor is minimally invasive and its therapeutic effect is favorably definite.
