Title: Clinical Observation of Integrative Medicine in Treatment of Chronic Urticaria and Its Safety Evaluation
Abstract: Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety evaluation of combination therapy of TCM and Western medicine in the treatment of chronic urticaria patients. Methods: 270 cases of chronic urticaria patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group based on a random number table,135 cases in each. Control group used the Western medicine and the observation group combined with TCM therapy based on the Western medicine. Two weeks was a course of treatment. After two courses, the comparative analysis of the clinical efficacy of two groups was carried out and the serum inflammatory factors change and adverse events were observed. Results: The total treatment efficiency( 93. 34%) in the observation group was significantly higher than that( 72. 59%) of the control group and the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). In the observation group after treatment,TNF- α,IL- 4 and Ig- E were significantly lower than those pre- treatment and post- treatment in the control group and IL- 18 was higher than the that of the control group before treatment and after treatment and the differences were statistically significant( P 0. 05). The observation group's relapse rate( 8. 46%) was significantly lower than that( 42. 52%) in the control group and the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). The two groups' incidence of adverse reactions had no statistically significant difference( P 0. 05). Conclusion: Integrative therapy is significant for patients with chronic urticaria and has no significant adverse reactions. Its clinical application is safe and reliable and it is worthy of further promotion of research.
