Methods Comparing with Cetirizine a double-blind,randomized,controlled study was conducted. Results 152 cases had been successfully studied, including 76 cases with auto-blood and 76 cases with Cetirizine. The average value of observation items on subjective and objective symptoms of the patients dropped at 14th day and 28th day after the treatment, but there was not statistic difference between the two groups(P0.05). As the treatment was completed, 58 cases of auto- blood group were healed(76.31%),with a total effectiveness ratio of 89.47%(68/76); and 54 cases of Cetirizine group were healed(72.05%),with a total effectiveness ratio of(87.64%)66/76, thus there was no significant difference between the two groups (X~2=0.3,P0.05).Adverse reaction occured in 3 cases of treatment group,in 68 cases of controlled group, there was rather significant difference between the two groups (P0.01). Recurrence rate: follow-up survey showed that 13 cases (22.4%) of treatment group and 31 cases of controlled group(57.4%)were recurrenced later 3 months after the treatment, thus the difference between the two groups was much apparent (P0.01). Conclusion Auto- blood therapy is novel effective and safe method for treating chronic urticaria.Read More
