Title: Observations on the Efficacy of Stellate Ganglion Block plus Point Injection for Treating Cervical Spondylopathy of Nerve Root Type
Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of stellate ganglion block plus point injection.Methods Fifty-two patients diagnosed with cervical spondylopathy of nerve root type according to the diagnostic criteria were treated by stellate ganglion block plus point injection for three consecutive weeks.The curative effect was evaluated using for reference The criteria for diagnosing syndromes and evaluating curative effects in traditional Chinese medicine.A change in score after treatment was observed according to the symptom and sign scoring criteria.Results After three weeks' treatment,cure occurred in 37 cases,improvement in 12 cases and ineffectiveness in 3 cases,with a total efficacy rate of 94.2%.There were statistically significant differences in clinical symptom and sign scores between pretreatment and posttreatment(P0.05).Conclusion Stellate ganglion block plus point injection has clinically a marked curative effect on cervical spondylopathy of nerve root type and is an effective way to treat it.
