Title: Clinical effectiveness of treatment of acute facial neuritis with stellate ganglion block and acupuncture
Abstract: Objective To compare the clinical effectiveness of treatment of acute facial neuritis with stellate ganglion block and acupuncture,and its related complications.MethodsA total of 42 patients with acute facial neuritis were rando mly divided into two groups with 21 cases each.The patients in group Ⅰ received stellate ganglion block and acupuncture and those in group Ⅱ received only acupuncture.All patients were also treated with drugs.ResultsThe overall efficiency of group Ⅰ was 100%,and group Ⅱ was 85.71%,the efficiency of group Ⅰ was significantly higher than group Ⅱ.Complications of stellate ganglion block mainly the recurrent laryngeal nerve block and local feeling pain and induration.ConclusionThe treatment of acute facial neuritis with stellate ganglion block and acupuncture is effective,simple,fewer complications,and a high cure rate.
