Title: Dynamic monitoring of serum progesterone and human chorionic gonadotropin on prognosis judgment of abnormal early intrauterine pregnancy
Abstract: Objective This study explored the value of dynamic monitoring of blood levels ofβ-hCG and progesterone on the judgment of abnormal early intrauterine pregnancy. Methods From January 2012 to December2012,early intrauterine pregnancy patients with abnormal vaginal bleeding who treated in Beijing Tiantan Hospital were enrolled in this study.Serum levels of progesterone andβ-hCG were tested. The outcomes of pregnancy of all the patients were under followed up.Results There were 121 cases enrolled in this study. The values ofβ-hCG and P were significantly decreased in the inevitable abortion group. As in the missed abortion group and threatened abortion group, the value ofβ-hCG was increased and the values of P had no statistically change. The continuing pregnancy group had the greatest change rate ofβ-hCG,and the missed abortion group had the smallest change rate ofβ-hCG.Inevitable abortion group had the biggest change rate of P.Conclusions Dynamic monitoring of serum progesterone andβ-hCG is a simple, rapid method to diagnosis inevitable abortion. And evaluating the trends and change rates ofβ-hCG may help to differentiate missed abortion with continuing pregnancy.
