Title: The relationship between serum β-HCG levels in 14~16 days after embryo transfer and early pregnancy outcome
Abstract: Objective To study the relationship between serum β-human chorionic gonadotrophin(β-HCG) levels in 14~16 days after embryo transfer and early pregnancy outcomes in patients with the treatment of assisted reproductive techniques(ART). Methods The data resulting from the pregnancy outcomes of 203 patients with the treatment of assisted reproductive techniques(ART) and positive serum β-HCG levels in 14~16 days after embryo transfer from March 2007 to Oct. 2009 in Reproductive center, the second affiliated hospital of Chengdu traditional Chinese medical college in Chengdu city was analyzed retrospectively. Results There were 35 patients with biochemical pregnancy(17.24%),12 patients with ectopic-pregnancy(5.91%),13 patients with early abortion in clinical pregnancy (6.4%) and 92 patients with singleton in clinical pregnancy (46.31%) and 51 patients with multiple in clinical pregnancy (25.12%). There was significant difference of the blood serum β-HCG levels among groups (P0.05) and the blood serum β-HCG levels in each group are as follows:the multiples in clinical pregnancy the singletons in clinical pregnancy early abortion and ectopicypregnancy biochemical pregnancy. But there was no difference of the blood serum β-HCG levels between the ectopic-pregnancy group and clinical pregnancy(P0.05). Conclusion The blood serum β-HCG levels could make predication effectively in the early pregnancy outcomes after ART treatment.
