Methods The lung function of 558 patients with COPD from January 2000 to April 2003 in our hospital was retrospectively analysed by using SPSS 10 0 software. Results The average ages of the 558 patients were 57 6±9 7 years, 78 9% of which were male. Patients with grades Ⅱ and Ⅲ COPD accounted for 70 2%. There was a negative relationship between FEV 1, FEV 1/FVC and smoking index(r=-0 039,-0 305,P0 01),and a positive relationship between Raw,RV/TLC and smoking index(r=0 291,0 320,P0 01). MMEF, V 50 and V 25 decreased in patients with grade 0. PEF and DL CO were significantly associated with FEV 1 and other lung function indices. Conclusions Lung function is the golden standard in the diagnosis of COPD. FEV 1, FEV 1/FVC, MMEF, V 50 , V 25 , Raw and RV/TLC are indices which reflect the obsruction degree of COPD. MMEF, V 50 and V 25 obviously change in the early stage of COPD.Read More
