Title: Laparoscopic retroperitoneal ureterlithotomy (report of 17 cases)
Abstract: [Objective] To evaluate clinical value of laparoscopic retroperitoneal ureterolithotomy in the management of ureteric calculi. [Method] From Novermber 2004 to September 2005, laparoscopic retroperitoneal ureterolithotomy was performed in 10 patients. The stone size ranged from 10 to 20 mm, mean 18 mm. [Results] 17 patients underwent retroperitoneoscopic ureterolithotomy successfully. The operation time ranged from 90-150 minutes (mean 110 minutes). The blood loss ranged from 30~99 ml (mean 45). No operative complication occurred. The post operative stay ranged from 7 to 8 days. [Conclusions] Retroperitoneoscopic ureterolithotomy is a safe and effective minimally invasive procedure.
