Title: Clinical effects of phacoemulsification and IOL implantation for cata ract with high myopia.
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of phacoemulsification and folding IOL implantation for cataract with high myopia.Methods 70 cases (125 eyes) of cataract with high myopia accept ed phacoemulsification and folding IOL implantation.The intraoperative and posto perative complications,postoperative visual acuity and refraction status were ob served.The follow up time was more than 3 months.Results The intraoperative and postoperative complications incl uded rupture of posterior capsule (3 eyes),corneal edema (12 eyes).3 months afte r the surgery,the best corrected visual acuity was as follows:4 eyes lower than 0.1, 25 eyes were 0.1~0.4, 86 eyes were 0.5~0.9, 10 eyes were 1.0~1.5.Conclusion Phacoemulsification and folding IOL implantation is an effective and safe method for cataract with high hyopia.
