Abstract:This paper analyses the question of whether the non-uniformity of metal flow produced by continuous extrusion process itself can result in bamboo-shaped defect by numerical simulation,and different pl...This paper analyses the question of whether the non-uniformity of metal flow produced by continuous extrusion process itself can result in bamboo-shaped defect by numerical simulation,and different plans of equilibrating the metal velocity are compared.The numerical simulation study is realized by taking out the cavity die to solve the self-contact problem in simulation process.Then draw a conclusion by comparing the judgments parameter which symbols the metal flow uniformity between different portholes using a method I invent.At last draw the conclusion that the differential metal velocity in the intake port of cavity die which is produced by the continuous extrusion process itself will not cause the bamboo-shaped defect.When general chamber for aluminum tubes and porthole die with three portholes are used,putting the porthole bridge on the symmetrical plane closed to the abutment is the best way to equilibrate the metal velocity.Read More
