Methods A retrospective analysis was carried out using clinical data of 97 cases with malignant tumor in the pelvic cavity,who received radiotherapy from January of 2000 to April of 2004. Results After radiotherapy,the incidences of radiation proctitis were: degree Ⅰ,35.05%(34 cases);degree Ⅱ,10.31%(10 cases),degree Ⅲ,8.25%(8 cases);and the overall rate was 53.61%(52 cases).The range of radiation dosage inducing radiation proctitis was 4-44 Gy,with a mean dose of 19.63±9.84 Gy. Conclusion After radiotherapy for pelvic cancer,radiation proctitis is an important complication,but a number of cases can be cured after application of symptomatic treatment.Read More
