Title: STUDY ON THE INDUCEMENT OF ZOOSPORE PRODUCTION OF PYTHIUM DELJENSE
Abstract: The effects of different media, incubating times, temperatures, baits and pretreatment times on the zoospore production of Pythium deliense were studied in this paper. The tests showed that the media CMA, WA, PDA, TSA and LBA, particularly CMA and WA,were suitable for the culture of P. deliense to produce more zoospores. The zoospore production of the young culture of. P,. deliense was much more abundant than that of the old one, especially the 2 day's old culture was high-yield. The fungus couldn't produce zoospore below 8℃ or above 35℃ and the optimum temperature was 15—25℃. Using the leaves of the hairy finger-grass (Digitaria sanguinalis) and carrot (Daucus carota var. sativa) as Baits cuold stimulate the fungus producing more zoospores earlier. The inducing effect of the hairy fingergrass was better than that of the carrot. The longer time of the pretreatment performed, the more zoospores would be produced, and the more prominent the overlapping of various stage of zoospores would occurred.
