Title: A Study on the Flow Stress of Plastic Deformation for Al 10Sn 4Si Alloy at High Temperature
Abstract: The true stress strain curves of plastic deformation for new Al 10Sn 4Si alloy were tested by isothermal compression loading at high temperatures with Gleeble 1500 machine. The flow stress in the compression process for the alloy was investigated in the temperature range of 373~673K and the strain rate range of 1.0~0.001s -1 . The results show that the plastic deformation process of the alloy have steady flow characteristics and the flow stress is sensitive to strain rate. In the steady state flow, the steady stress increased with the increasing of strain rate and the decreasing of temperature. The steady flow stress equations were established by regression analysis. It was found that the flow stress characteristics was closely related to dynamic recovery, re crystallization and sticky flow of local grain boundary, and the plastic flow was a thermally activated process governed by rate controlling mechanism of dislocation.
