Title: Establishment of Isolated Rabbit Lung Reperfusion Model and Improvement of Donor Preservation
Abstract: Objective: To develop an isolated rabbit lung reperfusion model and evaluate the function of donor lung after ischemic injury. Methods: 12 Japanese big ear rabbits used as donors were randomly divided into 2 groups. They were sacrificed with an intravenous injection of potassium chloride after heparinizated.A modified isolated rabbit model was established.Group A ( n =6), donor lungs were immediately perfused without ischemia; Group B: donor lungs were reperfused after room temperature ischemia.(1 hour ischemic internal).MPAP, blood gas and wet /dry weight ratio were evaluated. Results: In group A, PvO 2,PvCO 2,MPAP and W/D ratio were within the normal ranges and stably throughout the reperfustion. In group B, donor lungs showed significantly worse in PaO 2 and wet / dry ratio. Conclusion: This isolated model provides a more simple and reliable means for the research of lung preservation .
