Title: The Significance of SOD Activity and MDA Content in Plasma from Patients with ROU.
Abstract: Objective To study the diagnosis and treatment value of total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD), Mn-superoxide dismutase (Mn-SOD), CuZn-superoxide dismutase(Zn-SOD) activity and malondialdehyde(MDA) content in plasma for recurrent oral ulcer(ROU). Methods T-SOD, Mn-SOD, Zn-SOD activity and MDA content in plasma from 52 ROU patients before and after treatment and 50 healthy volunteers were measured with colorimetry and modified TBA colorimetry. Results T-SOD, Mn-SOD activity and MDA content decreased obviously after treatment ( P 0.05), but there was no significant difference ( P 0.05)between the cured group and the healthy volunteers. Conclusion The results has offered basis for dosage selection and prognosis assessment.
