Title: Clinical significance of test of activities of superoxide dismupase and content of malondialdehyde in serums of patients with type-II diabetes
Abstract: Objective To test the level of SOD and MDA of 54 patients with type Ⅱ diabetes and 34 health people. Methods SOD and MPA were tested by method of xanthine oxidase and chemical method of thiobarbital respectively. Results (1)The level of SOD of type Ⅱ diabetes group was lower than that of control group obviously, while the content of MDA of type Ⅱ diabetes group was higher than that of control group, there were significant differences between two groups (P0.01).(2)There were significant differences in serum SOD and MDA between the patients with chronic complications and that without complications. Conclusion It suggeted that the reduction of activities of serum SOD reduced the capability of eliminating free radical, and increment of serum MDA could reflect the degree of cell damage, which suggested that the occurrence of diabetes and its complications might be related with the increment of free radical.
