Title: Simultaneous Determination of Eight Volatile Benzene Series Compounds in Water Sample by Headspace-Gas Chromatography
Abstract: The determination method of the volatile benzene series compounds such as benzene,toluene,ethyl benzene,o-xylene,m-xylene,p-xylene in water sample was studied by a headspace-gas chromatography.Factors influencing the determination such as equilibrium time,volume ratio of gas and liquid,concentration of salt in water sample were investigated.The m-xylene was effectively separated from p-xylene by using the capillary column HP-INNOWAX(30 m×0.32 mm×0.25 μm).The minimum detection level(MDL),linearity,recovery and precision were also determined.The recovery was 97.4% ~ 106.3%(n=7),the relative deviation was 2.55% ~ 3.83%(n=7),and MDL was 0.06 ~ 0.10 μg/L.The results showed that this method is simple,accurate and suitable for the determination of benzene series in drinking water.
