Title: Analysis of Transfer Model for Plate Evaporative Air Cooler Based on Wet Bulb Temperature
Abstract: This paper presents theoretically the differential equation group of heat and mass transfer process in the plate evaporative air coolers.With the introduction of the wet bulb specific heat capacity and the wet bulb heat transfer coefficient for the moist air,a new mathematical model for the plate evaporative air coolers with counter-flow was acquired on the basis of the wet bulb temperature.The differential equation group for a plate evaporative air coolers was solved by Ⅳ order Runge-Kutta method.The temperature and heat flux distributions of hot fluid,spraying water,and moist air along the height of cooler were analyzed. The calculated results by this model are found to agree with the measured data. It provides a theoretical basis for discussing logarithmic mean temperature difference(LMTD) and the application of e-NTU methods to evaporative coolers directly.
