Title: Effects of Mckenzie Method Combined with Acupuncture and Manipulation on Cervical Function and Strength-Duration Curves in Patients with Cervical Spondylosis Radiculopathy
Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of Mckenzie method combined with acupuncture and manipulation on cervical function and Strength-duration curves in patients with cervical spondylosis radiculopathy. Methods A total of 134 patients with cervical spondylosis radiculopathy were randomized into two groups. The treatment group received a treatment of Mckenzie method combined with acupuncture and manipulation while the control group received a treatment of acupuncture and massage alone.Curative effects, cervical function, and Strength-duration curves before and after treatment were compared, including improvement index, the shortest reaction time, and duration,to evaluate the clinical efficacy of the two different approaches of treatment. Results After 2 treatment courses, clinical curative effects between the two groups showed no significant difference(P0.05).Cervical function score and improvement index were significantly different between the two treatment groups(P0.01);The shortest reaction time between the two groups showed no significant differernce(P0.05),whereas durations of two groups were significantly differernt(P0.01).Conclusion Mckenzie method combined with acupuncture and manipulation exhibits a better curative effect in treatment of cervicalspondy-lotic radiculopathy compared with conventional treatment of acupuncture and manipulation alone.
