Title: The relationship between serum level of adiponectin and severity of coronary artery stenosis
Abstract: Objective: To investigate the relationship between the level of serum adiponectin and the severity, stability of coronary artery stenosis. Method:We studied total of 105 male patients. Serum concentration of adiponectin in 51 patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS),29 patients with stable angina pectoris(SAP) ,diagnosed by coronary angiograph, were measured . There were 25 normal control subjects. The severity scale of coronary artery stenosis was quantatively assessed according to coronory angiography by Gensini score. Result: The serum levels of adiponectin in ACS patients were significantly descended as compared with that of SAP and controls(P 0.01),and serum adiponectin concentration were negatively correlated with the severity of coronaru artery stenosis(r=- 0.38,P 0.01). Conclusion:Adiponectin reflects the severity and stability of coronary artery stenosis which may predicts the occurrence and development of coronary artery disease.
