Title: Relationship between levels of serum IL-1β,IL-6 and coronary heart disease
Abstract: Objective:To study the relationship between levels of interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6 and coronary heart disease. Methods:The three groups included 32 cases of acute coronary syndrome(ACS),38 cases of stabilize angina pectoris(SAP) and 30 cases with normal coronary artery;serum level of IL-1β and IL-6 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, the severity and extent of coronary lesions was analyzed by coronary angiography and typified by means of Gensini coronary score system. Results:The serum level of IL-1β and IL-6 significantly elevated in coronary heart disease groups as compared to control groups(P0.05);in addition, serum level of IL-6 significantly elevated in ACS groups(P0.05) as compared to SAP groups.Positive correlation was seen between the severity of coronary lesions and the serum level of lL-6(β=0.358,P0.05).Conclusion:IL-1β and IL-6 may be a marker of coronary heat disease;similarly, measurement of it may be helpful for diagnosing coronary plaque destabilization and the severity of coronary heart disease.
