Title: Effect of Radiofrequency Ablation for Hepatocellular Carcinomas
Abstract: To assess treatment efficacy and influence factors of radiofrequency ablation on hepatocellular carcinoma.Eight-one hepatocellular carcinoma nodules in 63 patients were treated with radiofrequency ablation.Complete necrosis rate after first treatment was 80.6% and 24.0% in nodule ≤4cm and 4cm respectively(P0.01). Complete necrosis rate after multiple treatment in nodules ≤4cm and 4cm was 93.5% and 42.0% respectively(P0.01).The average follow-up period was 13 months, local recurrence was 6.9% and 14.2% in nodules ≤4cm and 4cm respectively (P0.05).The survival rate was 81.0% and 71.4% at 12 and 18 months respectively. Survival was related to nodule size and Child-Pugh class(P0.05).[Conclusion]Radiofrequency ablation is an effective method for both local control and long-term survival in patients with the hepatocellular carcinoma ≤4cm and Child-Pugh A.
