Title: Clinical observation of bronchial asthma treated by combination of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine
Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of combination of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine on the treatment of bronchial asthma. Methods 200 patients with bronchial asthma were randomly divided into two groups. Patients in treatment group (n=100) were treated by western medicine in acute stage and traditional Chinese medicine in remission stage. 100 cases in control group were treated by routine therapy. The course was three months in two groups. The clinical effect, medical cost, times of infusion, frequency of asthmatic attack and changes of life quality were observed after a course. Results The total effective rate in treatment group was higher than that in control group (P0.05). The medical cost, times of infusion and frequency of asthmatic attack in treatment group were lower than those in control group (P0.05). Conclusion Combination of western medicine in acute stage and traditional Chinese medicine in remission stage has definite effect on bronchial asthma.
