Title: Relationship between the expression of Caveolin-1 and pathological grade, clinical stage in oral squamous cell carcinoma
Abstract: Objective In order to explore the relationship between the expression of caveolin - 1 and pathological grade, clinical stage in oral squamous cell carcinoma,Caveolin- 1 was detected in oral squamous cell carcinoma. Methods Caveolin- 1 expression was detected in 78 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma and 40 cases of normal oral mucosa using SABC immunohistochemistry. The clinical and pathological data of the patients were collected and used to make statistical analysis. Results The normal oral mucosa had lower caveolin - 1 expression, while the positive of caveolin - 1 expression was 75.64% in oral squamous cell carcinoma. The positive rates of caveolin - 1 expression in the gradeⅠ、Ⅱ、Ⅲof oral squanous cell carcinoma were 47.62%、79.17%、90.90% respectively, which had a significant difference( P 0.05) .The positive rates of caveolin - 1 expression in stages0、Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ期were 6.67%、30.00%、46.47%、55.56%、75.00%respectively,which had a significant difference( P 0.05). Conclusion Oral squamous cell carcinoma overexpressed caveolin - 1, caveolin - 1 expression was positively related to the grade and stage of oral squanous cell carcinoma, and caveolin - 1 may be a novel carcinoma biomarker.
