Title: Expression of protein phosphatase 2A-Aβ in oral squamous cell carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To study the expression and significance of protein phosphatase 2A-Aβ(PP2A-Aβ) in normal oral mucosa and oral squamous cell carcinoma. Methods The expressions of PP2A-Aβ in 30 patients with oral squmous cell carcinoma and 10 patients with normal oral mucosa were detected by immunohistochemical S-P assay. Results The expression rates of PP2A-Aβ in normal oral squamous cell carcinoma and oral mucosa were 33.3%and 90.0%, respectively. They were associated with histological grade (P=0.049). Positive rates of PP2A-Aβ were 47.4% in high and middle and 9.1% in low differentiated oral squamous cell carcinoma. Expression of PP2A-Aβ is not related to clinical phases, lymph node metastasis, sex and ages (P0.05). Conclusion PP2A-Aβ protein plays a key role in the genesis and development of oral squamous cell carcinoma. Expression of PP2A-Aβ is related to histological grade, but not related to the clinical phases, lymph node metastasis, sex and ages.
