Abstract: MicroRNAs(miRNA) are one kind of about 22-nucleotides,short,noncoding RNAs that powerfully regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level.Posttranscriptional silencing of target genes by miRNA occurs either by targeting specific cleavage of homologus mRNA,or by targeting specific inhibition of protein synthesis.Between normal tissues and cancers, there are marked different expressions of miRNAs that participate in cancer development, progression and prognosis. In this review,we will discuss the progress on the study of microRNA in cancer.
