Title: Simultaneous Determination of Salvianolic Acid B and Cryptotanshinone in Salvia miltiorrhiza Preparations by HPLC-DAD
Abstract: Objective To simultaneously determine the content of salvianolic acid B and cryptotanshinone in Salvia miltiorrhiza planted from different regions,the two compounds were used to evaluate the difference of the preparations.Methods HPLC-DAD method was used to determine the content of salvianolic acid B and cryptotanshinone with a mobile phase of acetonitrile and water-phosphoric acid(100:0.026,v/v).The detector wavelength was set at 270 nm and the detector temperature was set at 24℃.Results It had a good linearity when the content of salvianolic acid B was 65~390 μg·mL-1,the same to cryptotanshinone when the content was 2.2~22 μg·mL-1.The range of salvianolic acid B was 0.363%-0.497% and the range of cryptotanshinone was 0.009 5%-0.028 4% in the ten Salvia miltiorrhiza preparations.Conclusion This method appeared to be rapid,accurate and reliable to simultaneously determine the content of salvianolic acid B and cryptotanshinone in Salvia miltiorrhiza.
