Title: Study on liquid-solid separation of lead(II)with potassium iodide-methyl violet-water system
Abstract: The liquid-solid separation behaviour of lead(Ⅱ)with potassium iodide-methyl violet-water system and the conditions for separation of lead(Ⅱ)from other metal ions were studied. The results show that in the presence of 0.6 mL KI(0.1 mol/L)and 0.2 mL MV(1.0×10-3 mol/L)solution,Pb(Ⅱ)can react with I-and methyl violet(MV+)to form the settling of(MV)_2(PbI_4),whereas Zn(Ⅱ),Cd(Ⅱ),Cu(Ⅱ),Mn(Ⅱ),Co(Ⅱ),Ni(Ⅱ),Fe(Ⅱ),Al(Ⅲ)can not in this conditions.Pb(Ⅱ)can be separated completely from these metal ions. This method has been used for the separation of trace of Pb(Ⅱ)in synthetic water samples with satisfactory results.
