Title: The transcription of CDK4 gene and its protein expressions in human colorectal cacrcinoma and their clinical significance
Abstract: Objective This study was conducted to investigate the levels of CDK4 mRNA transcription and protein expression of human colorectal cancers, and results were compared with the clinical pathological characteristics of the tumor. Method In 30 human colorectal carcinomas and corresponding adjacent normal mucosa, the levels of CDK4 gene mRNA transcription and protein expression were analyzed by means of Northern blotting and Western blotting, respectively. Results The overexpressions of CDK4 transcription and protein level were 40% and 53 3%, respectively, and negatively correlated with the differentiation of the tumor (χ 2=13 05, P=0 023; χ 2=13 89, P=0 009).Conclusion CDK4 gene may play a role in tumorigenesis in human colorectal carcinomas. This result may provide a theoretical evidence in the gene therapy of colon cancer.
