Title: Correlations among the expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor to clinical stages and microvascular density of oral squamous cell carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To explore the correlations among the expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) to clinical stages and microvascular density (MVD) of oral squamons cell carcinomas. Methods The expressions of VEGF and CD 34 in 52 patients with oral squamous cell carcinomas were detected by immunohistochemical S P method. Results The positive rates of VEGF expressions were no statistical significances among different stages of 52 patients with oral squamous cell carcinomas(P0.05),but the expression intensity of VEGF in IV stage was higher than that in Ⅰ and Ⅱ stags(P0.01,P0.05).The positive intensity of VEGF expression was positively correlated with MVD (r s=0.776,P0.01). Conclusion The positive rates of VEGF expression and MVD in oral squamous cell carcinomas are increased. VEGF play an important role in regulating the formation of tumor vessels.
