Title: Preparation and Properties of Aldehyde-acid Polymer/MMT Nanocomposites
Abstract: Hydrophilic monomer methacrylic acid and acraldehyde was polymerized directly in Na-montmorillonite(MMT) layers by free radical initiation. The impacts of initiator dosages and MMT contents on nanocomposite structure and application properties were studied by mono-factor experiment. The nanocomposite was characterized by XRD and FTIR spectrometry. The results show that the wet-heat resistant temperature of leather treated by 6% nanocomposites associated with 2% chromate based on pelt weight can be improved to 90 ℃,and the thickness increment ratio of the leather increases by 70%.Compared with conventional chrome tanning, the dosage of chromate is reduced by 75%.The nanocomposite formed belongs to exfoliated nanocomposite by XRD analysis.FTIR spectroscope detected that there is interlamellar polymerizotion of methacrylic acid and acraldehyde.
