Title: Synthesis of Starch-Graft-Acrylic Acid-Acrylamide/MMT Superabsorbent Nanocomposite
Abstract: Starch dispersing in aqueous solution contained acrylic acid and acrylamide was gelatinized by heating, and Na-montmorrilonite modified by hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide was dispersed in the solution.Starch-graft-acrylic acid-acrylamide/montmorrilonite superabsorbent nanocomposites were prepared by an in-site intercalation-grafting-copolymerization method in above-mentioned solution.XRD results show that the layer spacing (d(001)) of Na-montmorrilonite is increasing 2.37 nm,and formed an exfoliated intercalation superabsorbent nanocomposite.DSC shows that the glass transition temperature(Tg=108 ℃,118 ℃,130 ℃,140 ℃) of the nanocomposites increases with increasing the MMT content(0%,2%,5%,8%).SEM shows that Composite absorbency has formed dense network structure, and Na-MMT have more adhesion with the matrix of high polymer.
