Title: Effect of a prescription for tonifying kidney and spleen combination with conventional western medicine on blood sugar and hemorheology of patients with type 2 diabetes
Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of a prescription for tonifying kidney and spleen combination with conventional western medicine on blood sugar and hemorheology of type 2 diabetes patients with Spleen and kidney deficiency type.Methods 140 type 2 diabetes patients with spleen and kidney deficiency type were randomly divided into two groups.60 cased in control group were treated by conventional western medicine.80 patients in treatment group were treated by a prescription for tonifying kidney and spleen combination with conventional western medicine.The course was three months in two groups.The clinical effect and change of blood sugar and hemorheology before and after treatment were observed after a course.Results The total effective rate in treatment group(86.25%) was higher than that in control group(73.33%,P0.05).The levels of FPG and 2 h PG after treatment were decreased in comparison with those before treatment in two groups(P0.05).The improvement in treatment group was superior to that in control group(P0.05).Whole blood viscosity(high shear),plasma viscosity,hematocrit and fibrinogen in treatment group were significantly decreased in comparison with those in control group after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion A method for tonifying kidney and spleen combination with conventional western medicine has definite therapeutic effect on type 2 diabetes patients with Spleen and kidney deficiency type.
