Title: Clinical study of Bushenjiedu decoction in treating 36 patients with stage IV diabetic nephropathy
Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical effect of BushenJiedu decoction on stage Ⅳ diabetic nephropathy(DN).Methods 70 cases of stage Ⅳ DN were randomly divided into the treatment group(n=36) and control group(n=34).Patients in the two groups were treated by conventional western medicine therapy.Patients in treatment group took Bushenjiedu decoction orally at the same time. The course was six months in the two groups.Blood glucose, renal function, blood lipid and hemorrheology before and after treatment were observed and compared. Results The total effective rate was 83.34% in the treatment group, and 47.06% in the control group. The efficacy of the treatment group was significantly superior to that of control group(P0.01).There were significant difference between before and after the treatment on fasting plasma glucose(FPG),postprandial 2 h blood glucose(2 h PG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbAlc),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),serum creatinine(Cr),serum albumin(Alb),24 h urinary protein quantitative and lipid levels, hemorrheology and other indicators in treatment group(P0.01 or P0.05).There were significant differences between two groups on BUN,Cr,Alb,24h urine protein quantitative and lipid levels, hemorrheology and other indicators after treatment(P0.01 or P0.05).Conclusion The combination of Bushenjiedu decoction and conventional Western medicine therapy can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of the patients with stage Ⅳ DN.The clinical efficacy was significantly superior to the conventional western medicine therapy.
