Title: Synthesis and properties of hyperbranched polyesters modified with epoxy resins
Abstract: Hyperbranched polymers were functional materials with unique molecular structures, but they were generally weak in mechanical property. Thus modification of hyperbranched polymers with improved mechanical property would expand their applications.Hyperbranched polyesters(HBP)were synthesized by the ring-opening polymerization of trimellitic anhydride, epichlorohydrin and glycidol methacrylate, and then modified with epoxy resin through the reaction of the epoxy and the carboxy1 groups on the polyesters. The HBP modified with epoxy resin were characterized with GPC,1H-NMR,DSC and TGA.Photo reactivity of the resins,anti-scraching and hardness of the photocured coating composed of the HBP and the modified HBP were compared. The gel content vs photo-exposure time was determined.Photoresists composed of the modified HBP were prepared.Clear patterns with smooth surface and resolution reached to 2~3 μm were prepared through contact exposure with mixed UV light. The modification of HBP with about proper amount 70% of epoxy resin based the mole of the carboxyl group, showed obviously the improved photo reactivies and mechanical properties.
