Title: Anti-slaughtering Leaders:Reinterpretation of Relive Ceremony of Liao Dynasty
Abstract: In “The Golden Bough” J.G. Frazer shows the general existence of slaughtering leaders during the primitive times with that in China ignored. This article proves that the relive ceremony of Liao Dynasty is that for anti-slaughtering leaders. It also briefly discloses the general existence of slaughtering leaders, and not only fills in the gap missed in “The Golden Bough” but also adds a direction in thinking about the ancient civil customs in China.
