Title: Study on the relationship between the cytokines level and the treatment and prognosis in patients with liver fibrosis
Abstract: Objective To study the relationship among between levels of cytokines and the treatment and prognosis of patients with liver fibrosis. Methods Serum levels of cytokines were measured by ELISA in patients with liver fibrosis and control group. Results The serum levels of IL 6, IL 8 in patients with liver fibrosis were significantly higher than control group. IL 10 was obviously lower than control group. IL 6 and IL 8 were lower after oral oxymatrine therapy for three months than that before therapy in aggravated hepatic function group. IL 10 was higher than that before therapy. But there was no obvious difference between them. Serum levels of IL 6, IL 8 were significantly decreased in restored hepatic function group while IL 10 was significantly increased after therapy. Conclusions IL 6, IL 8 and IL 10 may be correlated with the treatment and prognosis of patients with liver fibrosis. They may be one of markers to judge the prognosis of patients with liver fibrosis, oxymatrine may have an important inhibition role on liver fibrosis.
