Title: Effects of interventional embolization therapy for bleeding in advanced cervical cancer
Abstract: Objective To investigate the efforts of interventional embolization therapy for acute bleeding in advanced cervical cancer. Methods Selective arterial infusion of anticancer drugs were used to thirty eight cervical cancer patients complicating with hemorrhage and then use gelatin sponge to embolize tumor feeding arteries. At last, the effects of hemostasis were observed. Results Pelvic artery arteriography displayed a clear tumor angiogenesis and its extent and gave a explicit region of hemorrhage.Hemostasis was got after chemoembolization.28 cases staunched within 24 h,8 cases staunched within 72 h,2 case still bleed 1 week after embolization. The efficiency of embolized hemostasis was 95%.Conclusion The super-selective uterine artery embolization is one of the most rapid and effective methods of hemostasis to acute bleeding in advanced cervical cancer, which increase the rate of surgical resection.
