Abstract: Objective To observe the efficacy of glimepiride and glibenclamide on type 2 diabetes mellitus.Method 133 cases were select by inclusion criteria, and then randomly divided into two groups:glimepiride group(81 cases)and glibenclamide group(52 cases),were given glimepiride 1mg/d、glibenclamide 1.25 mg/d respectively.According to fasting glucose levels, adjustment the dose every 1-2 weeks. The maximum dose:glimepiride is 8 mg/d;glibenclamide is 15 mg/d.After 12 weeks,Observed in patients with metabolic indexes in 6.Result Before and after treatment, there were decreased significantly in two groups with FBG(10.29±2.21 VS 7.21±1.59 mmol/L,p0.01);2 hBG(14.83±2.68 VS 10.57±1.66 mmol/L,p 0.01)and HbA1c(9.13±1.37 VS 7.56±1.33 mmol/L,p0.01);The 2 hC-P of glimepiride group were decreased significantly(2.03±1.21 VS 1.95± 0.92nmol/L,p 0.05);FC-P and BMI had no significant change .Conclusion Glimepiride and glibenclamide had the similar effect of the hypoglycemic, but the former can reduce the postprandial C-peptide levels,is the first choice of hypoglycemic drugs in patients with type 2 diabetes.
