Title: Percutaneous liver tumor's feeding artery puncture and embolic chemotherapy guided by color Doppler ultrasonography
Abstract: Objective To discuss the feasibility and clinical value of percutaneous liver tumor's feeding artery and embolic chemotherapy guided by ultrasonography. Methods Twenty patients with liver tumor which can not be treated by common methods like transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) or TACE can not take good effect, were treated by percutaneous TACE under the guidance of ultrasonography. Results Twenty-four times punctures were performed in 20 cases, needles were punctured into the feeding artery successfully in each case. On CT images, the target tumor was enhanced in 16 cases (80%), part of target tumor was enhanced in 1 case (5%), the tumor and its surrounding area was enhanced in 3 cases (15%). There were not severe complications after therapy. Conclusion This method above is safe, simple, and feasible to treat some patients with liver tumor who can not be treated with TACE.
