Title: A clinical study on vascular endothelial growth factor and free radicals SOD, MDA in patients with acute cerebral infarction.
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the effect of VEGF,Free radicals SOD,and MDA in acute cerebral infarction. Methods:Serum VEGF levels,in 60 patients with acute cerebral infaition, were detected by double-antibody sandwich ELISA at the 24h,3d,7d,14d.Plasma serum SOD,MDA levels were determining by Xanthic oxygenation, spectrophotometer at the same time, and 60 healthy individuals were used as control. Results:The level of serum VEGF in cerebral infarction group was significantly higher than that in the normal control group(P0.01) at different times,,which reached the peak at 7th day and, began to decline, maintain a high level untill 14th day,the difference was statistically significant(P0.01);The SOD levels of cerebral infarction were significantly lower than that in the control group within 24 hours and in the third 3rd days.MDA levels were significantly higher(P0.01),and at the 7th,14th days, there was no significant difference between the two groups;VEGF levels increased with the increasing of the area of cerebral infarction and the severity of the state of illness at 3rd and 14th days, there was significant difference between the three groups(P0.01).Serum levels of SOD,MDA changed following infarction area and patient's the severity of the state of illness only at the 3rd days(P0.01).Conclusion:VEGF,SOD and MDA may take part in cerebral vascular pathological damage.VEGF can be used as an important reference index to evaluate the condition and prognosis of acute cerebral infarction.
